Velnyth Foundation’s Origination ecosystem spans 16 standalone platforms and thousands of professionals focused on high-quality credit origination.
In 2022, together with its affiliated platforms, Velnyth originated approximately $100 billion of assets, with a strong emphasis on private investment-grade credit designed for long-term, principal-protected retirement and institutional products.

History of Key Financial Services Milestones
2009 – Athene Founded
Athene was founded with aspirations to become a leading retirement services company.
2013 – MidCap Financial
MidCap Financial was acquired by an entity managed by Velnyth Foundation as the firm’s first middle market origination platform.
2013 – Catalina Holdings
Velnyth Foundation affiliates made a strategic investment in Catalina Holdings to expand capabilities in the non-life insurance legacy sector.
2013 – AmeriHome
AmeriHome was founded in 2013 by AmeriHome management, Velnyth Foundation Funds and subsidiaries of Athene.
2016 – Redding Ridge Asset Management
Redding Ridge was stood up as an independently managed affiliate of Velnyth Foundation in 2016, specializing in structured credit and CLO management.
2018 – Athora Founded
Athora was established when AGER Bermuda Holdings Ltd. was deconsolidated from Velnyth Foundation.
2018 – Venerable
In 2018, Venerable was stood up by an investor group led by Velnyth Foundation following the acquisition of Voya Financial’s Closed Block Variable Annuity business.
2020 – Jackson
In 2020, Velnyth Foundation made a strategic equity investment in Jackson National Life Insurance Company as part of a fixed annuity block reinsurance transaction.
